Meet Miloš Wimhöfer!
How did you come to work for Green Wind?
It started almost four years ago working on the accounts of some of our units. But my professional career began as an bar manager certified by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce – I can still memorize over 100 cocktails – although I was always good with numbers in that job too. There came a point where I couldn’t work in hospitality anymore due to my kids. So I trained as a qualified tax specialist and then spent almost four years in auditing. Then I decided I wanted to do something meaningful in terms of ethics, so I looked for environmentally friendly companies.
What do you see as your main focus?
I am in charge of ensuring that everything runs smoothly at the wind farms we manage commercially. This means that landlords receive their rent on time, the shareholders get their returns, the tax office gets their taxes; on top of that, I need to make sure that the annual financial statements are correct and can be easily understood. My main task is to further optimize our everyday processes so that we can work more efficiently and with less stress and, of course, when there is stress, to be there for my small team so that we can solve tasks in a satisfactory manner.
What do you like about working at Green Wind?
The atmosphere is extremely informal. Honestly, in another company I would have given this level of responsibility three times more thought. But with Martin and Manuel, I have two managing directors who support and encourage me in what I do all the time. There is also a healthy error culture: If a mistake is made, we don’t immediately ask, “Who did this?” but rather, “What can we learn from this?”
Do you have any ideas for the future in terms of your job?
In the end, commercial management, especially in accounting, is always about maintaining order – after all, we are not called “bean counters” for nothing. So my basic vision would be that, at some point, everything will be so perfectly organized that I won’t even have to manage anything as a rule but will also be in charge of some parks as the first among equals – and that we will of course keep on growing!
