TH2ECO: cross-regional H2 connection faster than planned

The regional hydrogen project TH2ECO, with greenwind as one of four founding partners, is expanding faster than plan. According to the current status, hydrogen supplies for the local Thuringian economy can be expected from 2025 onwards. The cross-regional connection, for example to the Germany-wide hydrogen core network, will also be in place as early as 2028. Availability from 2030 was originally assumed.

Range extended by 100 km
The TH2ECO network, now with 31 members, was launched in 2021 by four partners, including Green Wind Innovation. A hydrogen line is currently being planned to extend the project area to Saalfeld/Rudolstadt, specifically to the Unterwellenborn steelworks, as well as to a large paper mill in the region, and companies in the Kölleda region are also to be developed as part of the project work. Overall, this extends the range of TH2ECO by around 100 kilometres in terms of cable length. The Dachwig local council (in the Gotha district) also approved the location for a 10 MW electrolyser from greenwind.
