Project period: 01/24 – 12/24
This project involved the development of a municipal heat plan in accordance with the Municipal Guideline, carried out comprehensively by greenwind Innovation. The municipality of Schorfheide was one of the first municipalities in Brandenburg to commission the preparation of a municipal heat plan. The plan was successfully adopted as scheduled in December 2024. greenwind Innovation was responsible for all service components, ranging from project management and technical analysis to the preparation of the heat plan and the design of appropriate participation formats for stakeholders and citizens.
The municipality of Schorfheide is a large-area municipality with very diverse districts and extensive areas within a biosphere reserve. Around half of the population lives in Finowfurt, where two district heating networks are located, while the other half is spread across rural villages. Another special feature is the research site for deep geothermal energy, which was taken into account in the municipal heat planning. A project consortium consisting of research institutions, district heating network operators, and the municipality is advancing the demonstration of geothermal energy use via district heating in rural areas.
In addition to the technical work, three public events were held in different districts of the municipality to address local specificities. Stakeholders such as biogas plant operators and the project consortium of the deep geothermal research site were invited to contribute their expertise, resulting in informative events.
