Green Wind is building 3 Nordex: everything according to plan!
Our Green Wind team with site manager Maximilian Horn is currently building three Nordex wind turbines in Freudenberg Central and South in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg. One N149/5.7 and two N163/5.7 turbines from the manufacturer Nordex are being built. We visited Maximilian on site to get a closer look.
Max, what is the current status of the construction work?
We are currently working on the foundation. The first two blinding layers have been produced. The assembly and alignment of the foundation basket at the wind turbine in Freudenberg Central has started. We are currently laying a total of roughly 16.5 km of cable systems for all three turbines. The first fire water tank (50 m³) has been installed.
What are the next steps?
After the foundations have been laid, they will be filled in, the crane sites will be reshaped by Galabau Matschke, and the concrete tower will be built. Nordex will deliver the main components starting in August. Then we will erect the turbines. One of the turbines has a hub height of 164 m and a rotor diameter of 149 m. The other two turbines have a diameter of 163 m.
Is everything going according to plan?
Everything is on schedule! We are planning to commission the turbines in September/October 2023. We will then dismantle two Enercon E 40s with an output of 500 kW each as part of the Freudenberg Central repowering project.
Were there any particular challenges?
The special highlight is that Sophie succeeded in planning, designing, and securing 16.5 km of cable including official approval within nine months before the start of construction.
You built a new habitat for the sand lizards. How are they doing?
The sand lizards are still hibernating. The new habitat is ready and waiting for new residents. Green Wind will also reforest four hectares of mixed deciduous woodland as a further mitigating measure.
