Freudenberg: Two become one!

Approval under the German Immission Control Act (BImSchG) has been obtained for a further wind project of Green Wind Energy GmbH in the municipality of Beiersdorf-Freudenberg. This repowering measure is being carried out in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg. A Nordex N149/5.7 with a capacity of 5,700 kW and a hub height of 164 m has been approved. Two Enercon E-40s dating from 1999 will be dismantled. The approval process took around 24 months, and was handled by Pascal Peters.

The new turbine will generate approx. 14,500,000 kWh per year. Reforestation of 1,500 m² of mixed woodland and the planting of avenue trees in Freudenberg are planned to compensate for the sealed-off areas. In addition, any sand lizards found in the foundations of the old wind turbines will be relocated in a purpose-built sand-lizard habitat.

There are plans to coordinate the installation in tandem with construction of the Beiersdorf-Freudenberg project, which has already been awarded a contract for two Nordex N163/5.7 wind turbines by the German Federal Network Agency. After commissioning, Green Wind Operations will assume management of technical and commercial operations.
