Vormark/Prignitz wind park (Groß Pankow, Germany)

Repowering project

Vormark/Prignitz (Groß Pankow, Germany)

greenwind dismantled 14 existing obsolete turbines in the wind power region at the end of 2016. 14 new wind turbines were erected and commissioned at the same location in the first quarter of 2017, including a separate transformer station in Kuhsdorf for connecting the wind turbines.

Rated power 48.3 megawatts

The new wind turbines with hub height of 137 metres and rated power of 3,450 kilowatts each (previously 1,500 kilowatts) were erected within three months. The 21 megawatt nominal power was thus upgraded to 48.3 megawatts. Repowering increased the energy yield by approximately fourfold. The wind park is equipped with a demand-based night labelling system.

Compensatory measures:

As compensatory measures, and at the request of the local authority, buildings no longer needed were demolished, trees were planted and a meadow orchard was laid out. Sand lizards were relocated to replacement habitats, bats were given replacement boxes in three locations and nests were installed for barn swallows.
