Schrepkow: Approval after 4.5 months!
The approval process for the second construction phase of the repowering project at the Schrepkow wind farm proves that things can be done differently. Approval for construction and operation of a wind turbine in Gumtow (Schrepkow district) has been secured after just four and a half months. The Danish operators of the existing turbines in Schrepkow, with whom Green Wind has been working closely for years, are involved in the repowering project as partners. The new wind turbine will be a Nordex N133 – 4.8 MW, with a hub height of 82.5 m and a total height of 149.1 m. 27-year-old Marie-Luise Mörk (pictured) is responsible for the approval process at Green Wind.
The MSc student in environmental information joined Green Wind a year and a half ago, was kept on after finishing her studies, and has now successfully completed her first project. Commenting on the fast approval process, Marie-Luise said: “We were well-placed given that land-use planning had already been dealt with, my colleagues had done professional preparatory work, and lots of points had been clarified with the authorities in the first construction phase.” The first construction phase comprises four wind turbines that are already being built and will go into operation in fall of this year.
Green Wind hopes that all wind farm projects awaiting the green light from the authorities will be approved as quickly.
