The structure’s on the move!

And by day and night. At the moment it’s the 79.35 m long rotor blades of the V162, 6.0 MW, which were delivered overland from the manufacturer Vestas in Cuxhaven to the Werder-Zinndorf wind park in the Rehfelde municipality (district of Märkisch-Oderland/Brandenburg). The motorway exit had to be temporarily redesigned due to the length of the three blades.

When it goes into operation in the middle of the year, the overall height of the V162 will be 250 metres with a rotor diameter of 162 metres. Oil and gas pipes run right through the wind park, and several monitoring systems will be installed in the wind turbines to safeguard these – among other parameters these measure the vibration in the tower. The structure is 1000 metres distant from the residential zone. To protect the residents during commissioning, greenwind will be implementing nocturnal noise reduction.
