“2025 was a year full of activity that saw us specifically working on our projects as well as focusing on digital progress in project development,” summarises Franziska Göbel, Head of greenwind Project Development. A total of around 300 MW was submitted for authorisation in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Ordinance, such as further repowering in Crussow and Ramelsloh and new planning projects in Ohlenbüttel, Pritzwalk and Schönfeld. “We’re especially pleased about commissioning of the first installation in Werder-Zinndorf and the successful launch of projects in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. A particular highlight of course is that our employee wind turbine in Freudenberg, along with other projects, was awarded a contract by the Federal Network Agency.”

Authorisation procedures at greenwind are simplified by the fact that applications can now be submitted in entirely digital form. A digital landscape assessment method has also been launched at greenwind in a very short time (see diagram).
The basis for the further expansion of wind parks is acceptance in the municipalities, and with this in mind, presentations of projects were held in numerous communities. Colleagues from the greenwind site in Lübeck for example travelled to the north of Germany almost every week to talk to and inform residents and community representatives at events that attracted a high level of visitors.

The year has also brought fresh wind into the team: new employees in cable routing and grid connection planning are strengthening the division, and a new employee is working on PV and hybrid projects. The Northern Germany office has also been expanded, relocating to a new and larger site in Lübeck’s historic centre.

This means that greenwind Project Development is ideally positioned for the wide-ranging challenges on the horizon in 2026!
